This is a gorgeous hand blown art glass vase by well known Oregon artist Tom Dimond. The bowl is in immaculate condition and has been well cared for.  This piece was originally purchased at "A Gathering of Glass" art show.  It is signed on the bottom by the artist.
This bowl is lightly iridescent and has a sandy (but smooth) texture on some of the exterior surface. At first glance, it appears to be a glazed ceramic vase. It's only when you notice the translucent glow that you realize it is made of glass.

Tom Dimonds most recent work is a series of vases that are reminiscent of the Art Nouveau movement of the 1900s. The forms are experimental and their surfaces have been iridized. The process of fuming the glass before it is annealed embellishes the patterns and color of the work, resulting in an iridescent quality much like the wings of a butterfly.
