Hysterics at How Goldendoodle With Intense ‘FOMO’ Keeps Eye on Owner

Most dogs want nothing more than to be with their owner at all hours of the day. Some breeds are known to be clingier than others, earning themselves the title of a Velcro dog.
Goldendoodles—a golden retriever and poodle mix—are more often than not referred to as a Velcro dog breed. They love being in the presence of their humans and tend to have separation anxiety when they’re alone for long periods. And one goldendoodle had no shame about the clinginess title.
In a TikTok video posted by @risse.redmond on July 31, a woman can be seen working out in the garage, but because her goldendoodle has “insane FOMO [fear of missing out],” he couldn’t be alone. It didn’t matter that they were only separated by a room. That was too far away from his human.
Luckily, the door from the garage to the house had a tiny cat flap left by the previous owners and the dog saw it as his opportunity to keep eyes on his owner. The pup couldn’t fit his entire body through the tiny door, but he made it work. As the owner is lifting her weights, the video pans to the dog’s head poking through the door.
Part of the video’s caption reads: “…my goldendoodle uses it as his own personal portal to the outside world.”
The steps below the door were the dog’s headrest and allowed him to get a comfortable, front-row seat to everything his owner was doing.
While it’s true owners rarely get a minute of peace with dogs who have FOMO, there is a silver lining: they’ll always be loyal to you. And in this case, the dog was just monitoring the situation just in case his owner got hurt.

The TikTok video amassed over 816,600 views and 81,000 likes as of Friday afternoon.
“He’s just trying to spot you while you’re lifting,” joked one user.
A second wrote from the dog’s perspective: “Uh, hey…whathca doing? Without me no less.”
Another third user posted: “That door was obviously installed for doodle peeping.”
Other users shared their similar experiences as one wrote: “We also have a cat door from the previous owners that our doodle uses to judge us when we leave without him.”
